Austrian EGNOS Data Server – OEGNOS

The Austrian EGNOS data server (OEGNOS) provides an EGNOS correction data service especially tailored to the requirements in Austria. For that purpose, local meteorological parameters (ionosphere, troposphere corrections) derived from real measurements are integrated. The OEGNOS data is provided to the users via a terrestrial communication connection in RTCM format. This, on the one hand further improves the quality of the EGNOS correction data, on the other hand overcomes the problem of signal shading due to the topography.

The main goal of the project OEGNOS is the industrial and scientific research and development regarding the generation of an Austrian EGNOS data service which provides improved accuracy. Thus, a data server and a test user terminal will be developed and tested in order to evaluate the complete system. The first version of this service will cover a local area in the surroundings of Rottenmann (Styria, Austria).

The OEGNOS project is coordinated by Teleconsult Austria GmbH.

The OEGNOS project is managed by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (www.ffg.at) through Austrian Government (BMVIT) funds.
